Joseph Stiglitz is one of the most frequently cited economists in the world and is one of the most sought-after thinkers about the future of the world economy.

Professor Stiglitz is Professor of Economics at Columbia University. He is also the Chief Economist of the Roosevelt Institute and founder and Co-President of the university's Initiative for Policy Dialogue (IPD). He is best known for helping to create a new branch of economics known as the "Economics of Information", exploring the consequences of information asymmetries and pioneering such pivotal concepts as adverse selection and moral hazard, which today have become standard tools.

He is the author of a number of bestseller books, amongst the most celebrated are Globalization and Its Discontents (2002), which sold over one million copies worldwide, The Roaring Nineties, with Bruce Greenwald (2003), Fair Trade For All, with Andrew Charlton (2003), and Making Globalization Work (2006). In 2008, he co-wrote the book, The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict, with Linda Bilmes of Harvard University, and his latest books Globalization and Its Discontents Revisited: Anti-Globalization in the Era of Trump (2017) and People, Power, and Profits: Progressive Capitalism for an Age of Discontent (2019). His op-eds and articles frequently appear in the Financial Times, Newsweek and other publications.

He offers in-depth analysis of the world's current economic climate.
